Information Databases

Mango is an online language learning resource, with over 70 different languages in its database, including Chinese, French, German, Greek, Italian, ASL, and more.

You will need to create a personal log in and password to use this database. Click here and set up your account using your 14 digit library card number and selecting Red Rock Public Library.

Little Pim is the leading language teaching method designed just for children.
5-minute ad-free videos help them begin their language learning journey on their own. Child-friendly themes of colors, shapes, counting, and foods make it relatable. Hearing & repeating the 360 foundational words and phrases with Little Pim helps them recall, reproduce, and apply the new sounds.

Little Pim is accessed in the Mango Languages app by logging in, selecting a language, and clicking the ‘explore’ tab.


Libby is an online database of magazines, e-books and audiobooks.

Our database is accessible here to download magazines, audiobooks and e-books. To sign in you will need your 14 digit library card number and to select Red Rock Public Library. Click here to download Libby on your device.

We have also created a virtual brochure for Libby! Here you will find The Red Rock Public Library’s current selection of e-books for the exclusive use of our patrons through Libby.  Click on any of the cover art shown and you will be taken directly to the corresponding page on the Libby (formerly OverDrive) website.  From there you can read the book’s description, a sample and reviews, and sign in to borrow the title or to place a hold. To sign in you will need your library card number and to select Red Rock Public Library.

Primary Search is a database of children’s magazines, e-books, and easy-to-read encyclopedic entries written specifically for kids of elementary school age. Primary Search includes popular children’s magazines including: Highlights, Scholastic News, Sports Illustrated Kids, TIME for Kids & Zoobooks. Primary Search also includes reference e-books from top children’s publishers. This encompasses a broad range of general reference subjects, with topics like social studies, history, language arts, geography, culture, math and science.

Ancestry Library Edition is a genealogy website available for use only in the library. Through this database you can access family history, records and research.

You can also search marriage, birth and death records; as well as census records and other members’ family trees.

You can access it by clicking on the Ancestry Library Edition logo on the desktop of any library computer. Come in to the library and search your roots!


MasterFILE Premier provides a robust collection of magazines, e-books and primary source documents. It contains general reference magazines and publications covering a wide range of subject areas including business, health, education, general science and multicultural issues. It also includes 55,000 primary source documents and more than 2.5 million photos, maps and flags.
This database also encompasses a rich selection of e-book reference titles covering a broad range of subjects, including biography, history, architecture, literature, cooking, health, science, self-help, religion, current events, sports, travel and more.

NoveList is a free database of book recommendations for patrons of The Red Rock Public Library. NoveList’s unique search options help you find the types of books you like, and find more that suit your interests and style.

NoveList Plus uses story elements like genre and themes to search with. You can even search by keyword!  Browse and click on a title to discover “read-alikes”, find full series information and more.

NoveList Select Need reading inspiration?  NoveList Select allows you to browse The Red Rock Public Library’s catalogue and find recommendations within!  Just visit the “Catalogue” link on our website and once you have clicked on a title, click on “Discover More: Recommendations and Reviews” to see read-alikes, similar authors, reader reviews and more!


Britannica Library is a digital encyclopedia that is easy to use and makes information easy to find. It can be accessed within the library and at home.

Britannica Library is accessible via three sites- Children, Young Adults, and the Reference Centre- where you can conduct research, complete school assignments, work on special projects, or explore unique interests. Explore thousands of topics in science, social studies, language arts, and mathematics for school projects, review concepts taught in school, or learn something new!

Canadian Reference Centre is a database of leading Canadian and international magazines, plus thousands of images from the Canadian Press. This database contains Canadian magazines and journals, including: Canadian Geographic, Chatelaine, & Maclean’s. Many international magazines are also offered including: The Atlantic, Essence, New Scientist, People, Sports Illustrated & TIME. 
It also includes Canadian newspapers including the Toronto Star and Winnipeg Free Press, as well as newswires from the Canadian Press and La Presse Canadienne (en Francais), and transcripts from CBC Radio and CBC Television.

Virtual Author Presentations

The Red Rock Public Library is very excited to announce a new ongoing series of virtual presentations from bestselling authors and thought leaders, which our patrons can access for free! These author talks are provided by the library here:
